Overview

An innovation platform built around Jammu's own problem statements

The Jammu Smart City Hackathon (JSCH) is an innovation platform designed to bring together innovators, entrepreneurs, researchers and community organizations to develop practical solutions for the urban challenges faced by Jammu city.

The hackathon encourages participants to transform innovative ideas into scalable solutions, sustainable enterprises and impactful community initiatives through a structured process of problem identification, ideation, mentoring, prototyping and final pitching before a panel of experts.

More about JSCH
Why this, why now

Closing the gap between challenge and solution

A city with huge potential

Jammu has significant potential to improve urban services through innovation, technology and community-led solutions.

A gap to bridge

A considerable gap remains between local challenges and the ability of entrepreneurs, innovators and civil society organisations to address them effectively.

JSCH closes that gap by putting the city's own problem statements in front of the people best placed to solve them, keeping a route open from prototype pilot procurement.

Objectives

Three things the hackathon sets out to do

01

Bridge the gap between urban challenges and innovation

Connect government departments with startups, NGOs, innovators and community organizations, and establish the hackathon as a replicable model for other departments.

02

Promote local innovation and problem solving

Encourage scalable technological, business and community-driven solutions that leverage the unique strengths of Jammu & Kashmir.

03

Strengthen the innovation ecosystem

Foster collaboration through mentorship, networking, incubation and implementation pathways across startups, social enterprises, NGOs, academia, industry and government.

The opportunity

JSCH is not simply a competition for ideas — it is a platform to work with the Municipality.

Businesses, startups, NGOs and social enterprises can find meaningful opportunities while solving problems that directly affect citizens.

For Innovators

For Startups
