About the hackathon

Innovating for a Better Jammu

An initiative of Jammu Smart City Limited in collaboration with LEAD (LJK Economic Growth And Development Dialogue), in partnership with the Jammu Municipal Corporation.

Overview

What is JSCH?

The Jammu Smart City Hackathon (JSCH) is an innovation platform designed to bring together innovators, entrepreneurs, researchers and community organizations to develop practical solutions for the urban challenges faced by Jammu city.

The hackathon encourages participants to transform innovative ideas into scalable solutions, sustainable enterprises and impactful community initiatives through a structured process of problem identification, ideation, mentoring, prototyping and final pitching before a panel of experts.

JSCH is not simply a competition for ideas. It is a platform through which businesses, startups, NGOs and social enterprises can find meaningful opportunities to work with the Municipality — while solving problems that directly affect citizens.

Why this, why now

A city with huge potential — and a gap to bridge

A city with huge potential

Jammu has significant potential to improve urban services through innovation, technology and community-led solutions.

A gap to bridge

A considerable gap remains between local challenges and the ability of entrepreneurs, innovators and civil society organisations to address them effectively.

How JSCH closes the gap

By putting the city's own problem statements in front of the people best placed to solve them — and by keeping a route open from prototype → pilot → procurement.
